Emily Ling Mei

As a pianist of over 20 years, I've worked with several well-established music schools, including the Old Town School of Folk Music, Music Makers of Western Springs, and Music House, running both private and group lessons in piano, voice, general music, dance, and musical theatre. I also work as a music director and pianist around the city, accompanying for cabarets, theatre productions, and auditions. 

As a teacher, I currently offer both in-home and virtual private lessons in piano and voice and have a wide range of experience in different genres, such as classical, folk, musical theatre, and pop/rock. I teach all ages and experience levels and take into account each student's needs—so whether you're looking to improve your technique, expand your theory knowledge, get help with an upcoming audition, or start from scratch, I will tailor our lessons to best benefit you.
